American Civil War

For 4 years, the US was involved in one of the bloodiest conflicts in its history. The Civil War divided people into two camps— the Union Army and the Confederate States of America. One of the central issues was the dispute over slavery

World War II

WWII was the deadliest war in history. It involved over 30 countries and dragged on for 6 years. The first trigger was Adolf Hitler’s invasion of Poland, which took place in September 1939. This action resulted in France and Britain declaring war on Germany.

American Revolutionary War

The American Revolutionary War was a political movement within the Thirteen Colonies against British rule. Discontentment with the regime began shortly after France’s defeat in the 1763 French and Indian War. The rebellion lasted for 5 years and granted America independence.

Vietnam War

The situation in Vietnam is probably one of the costly and divisive conflicts the USA was involved in. It lasted for around 20 years and took many lives with it. The conflict caused much controversy in the American nation, as many opposed the government’s actions. It was essentially a proxy war between the US and the Soviet Union.

Led by the five years of growing tensions on the Korean peninsula, the war broke out on June 25, 1950. North Korea had the Soviet Union and the People’s Republic of China as alliances, while South Korea had the support of the United Nations Command. This three-year brutal struggle left millions of Koreans dead.
